      'The Organisational Stage'

A leadership programme for managers and consultants in changing organisations

The purpose of the Organisational Stage is the development of the participants’ ability to create results with and through people. The programme fosters increased understanding and ability to act in appropriate professional roles on various organisational stages. This is made possible by a deepened understanding of events and processes in both the inner world of the organisation, and in the surrounding world.

What are the needs of our customers? Which needs are ours and not theirs? Which roles are we assigned? Which roles do we have access to? Which roles do we need to develop or create? Who are the other actors and what are their roles? What is going to take place in the next scene, in the next act?

As a participant, your power to direct yourself will increase gradually through the programme. You will create a wide and flexible role repertoire, required increasingly to respond to the need for appropriate action in complex and changing organisations in a complex and changing world.

The Organisational Stage will provide you with the opportunity to

develop as a credible professional leader;

create a learning orientation within the organisation;

investigate and influence relationships and activity internally and externally.

The Organisational Stage will enable you to integrate new ways of thinking, feeling and perceiving into new ways of responding and acting in your professional role. You will understand the conditions for strategic action and for the implementation of change.

The programme is arranged as a combination of theory, experience-based learning, practical training and application. We teach a transferable model for learning within organisations.

To maximise its effectiveness, we implement the programme in two-day seminars: the first day is theme-orientated and the second designated for coaching of your project(s). You will have the opportunity to formulate your own goals and influence the focus of the seminars. The overall purpose is for you to be able to act appropriately and forcefully on your organisational stage or stages.

The programme uses Action Methods which are challenging and effective tools for analysing roles, studying courses of events from different perspectives and testing different choices of action in simulated realities. These methods provide rich sources for reflection in conjunction with feedback, visualisation and dialogue.

WHO WILL BENEFIT FROM THE TRAINING?

managers, project managers and work leaders;

those with HR, personnel or training responsibilities;

internal and external consultants interested in learning efficient strategies for implementing change, and in an extension of their range of methods.

SOURCES OF INSPIRATION

The programme was inspired and influenced by the work of J.L. Moreno and Will Schutz.

Moreno was attracted by drama as a metaphor and influenced by existential philosophy. He developed theories and methods for the analysis of living human systems - in particular, roles and groups. He created Action Methods such as role reversal, situation training and scenario techniques, the purpose of each of which is to liberate creativity and the courage to change. He inspired many followers within the behavioural sciences.

Will Schutz developed thoughts and theories around individuals and groups, their ways of functioning and how they grow. These thoughts – expressed in Firo and The Human Element, form part of our frame of reference.

The programme is also inspired by systems theory, among others Gregory Bateson´s ideas around communication systems.
